The Florida Farm Bureau is a non-profit organization working tirelessly to promote and protect the agricultural interests in the state of Florida. With a rich history dating back to 1941, it serves as the voice of the farming community, comprising of over 60,000 member families and representing various agricultural sectors, including crops, livestock, aquaculture, and forestry. The primary mission of the Florida Farm Bureau is to enhance the economic viability and sustainability of Florida agriculture while advocating for policies that ensure a favorable business environment for farmers and ranchers.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is a state agency dedicated to promoting and protecting Florida agriculture and consumer interests. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, FDACS offers various programs and initiatives to support the agricultural industry and assist farmers. One such program is the Cost Share Program, which provides financial assistance and incentives to eligible agricultural producers and landowners. Through this program, FDACS aims to improve irrigation efficiency, enhance water quality and quantity, support the adoption of best management practices, and address other environmental and conservation priorities. By fostering collaboration and providing funding opportunities, the Cost Share Program plays a vital role in fostering a sustainable and resilient agricultural sector in Florida.

Water Management Districts

The state’s five water management districts include the Northwest Florida Water Management District, the Suwannee River Water Management District, the St. Johns River Water Management District, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, and the South Florida Water Management District. The department exercises general supervisory authority over the districts through a cooperative working relationship and guidance memos.
