FAITH, FARMING, and FORTITUDE

I am a big University of Florida athletics fan. 2024 was a comeback year for Gator baseball and football. The baseball team started the season ranked high only to stumble through several losses, then rebound in a thrilling comeback that took the team to the finals of the College World Series. Gator football began with high hopes, but struggled with several losses in the first half of the season, but like the baseball team, rallied to finish the season strong. Both head coaches instilled in their players a winning attitude: Never—Never—Never quit! Setbacks and disappointment will come, but those who stand strong through the difficulties will overcome.

The Farmer’s Creed

Farmers live by the same creed. When God made a farmer, He mixed grit, determination, persistence, and dedication into an individual that would stand up to the challenges of growing crops and raising livestock. The Bible teaches a great deal about how we approach life. Romans 8:28 is just one of many that tells us that “attitude matters.”

Romans 8:28 – A Reminder of God’s Plan

And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. – Romans 8:28 NASB

Let that sink in! Next time your back is against the wall, don’t ask WHY—ask WHAT. What can I learn from this that will strengthen and grow me? The key to that answer is found in an intimate relationship with Jesus. He is the Prince of Peace! He is waiting for you to reach out and let Him wrap His arms around you, my friend.

What is Holding You Back?

Average for a country boy, but a blessed child of the King of kings and Lord of all.
